According to ESPN.com the Mets and Jose Valentin have agreed on a 1 year deal worth atleast $3 million.
This is surprising how fast they resigned him, especially since he said he doesn't want to be a role player, but a starter. I'm not sure that he can be guaranteed a starting position this early in the off season. Very interesting to resign this early.
