Mets Break Ground on CitiField

The Mets have just broken ground on the new stadium, which is sponsored by Citigroup. It is being named CitiField.

It could be worse than being sponsored by Citi. It's got a New York ring to it. It looks like the new park is going to be amazing and really makes me look forward to 2009.

It will have the Rotunda of Ebbets' Field, dedicated to Jackie Robinson & Citi Group & The Mets will be making a huge donation to the Jackie Robinson Foundation & Learning Center, to be built in Lower Manhattan:

I was at Gil Hodges Wake in OLHC in Midwood, Brooklyn. Out of a car, looking frail & sickly & almost blind was Jackie Robinson;

This was the 25th Anniversary Season of when Robbie broke the color line;

I get teary-eyed when I think of that, as "The Boys of Summer" were starting to pass on.
